About The Rig Directory
Our History
Founded in 2022, The Rig Directory was built on a simple but powerful idea — to bring sound systems from across the country together in one accessible platform. Our aim is to make it easy for promoters, organizers, and communities to find the perfect rig for their events, enhancing their event services. At the same time, we’re proud to support music culture by giving sound systems greater visibility while also helping raise money for their chosen charities. Since launching, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the biggest and most respected sound systems in the industry.
The Concept
Each sound system listed on The Rig Directory has its own dedicated page, fully managed and editable by our admin team whenever needed. These pages are designed to showcase each rig at its best, featuring the option to include photos, social media links, price lists (if desired), and any key information that highlights their setup and services, contributing to the vibrant music culture surrounding event services.
Every sound system also selects a charity they’re passionate about supporting. We feature this directly on their page, including a secure donation link that goes straight to their chosen charity, making it easy for others to contribute and show support.
To be listed on The Rig Directory, we simply ask for a one-off minimum donation of £5 to their chosen charity. Any further donations are entirely at the discretion of the sound system. Once listed, their page is ready to share and promote.
This creates a space where people can quickly and easily discover sound systems, view their services, and access all relevant contact details in one place.
The Goal
Our goal is simple — to support sound systems and showcase them at their very best within the vibrant music culture, while also giving back.
By bringing everything together in one place, we aim to raise awareness, create opportunities, and generate support for the charities that matter most to each rig in the event services community.
We’ve set a minimum donation of just £5 to join the directory, as we believe it’s an accessible amount for everyone, especially during challenging times. Of course, anyone is always welcome to give more, but this small contribution helps make a meaningful difference collectively.
